Working out the Spiritual in the Physical

Hello blogging buddies,

Today ~ just a topic I am dancing with right now.  I have mentioned that God is prompting me to make some (a lot) of changes in my routine of life.  It's quite overwhelming to be honest.  I just can't see how in the world I can make all of these changes and basically live life, day to day, this new way.  I have been wrestling with this for a long time.

Last night I had a light bulb moment.  I am trying to figure this out in the physical. I am strictly looking at the changes with my physical eyes and considering my physical abilities.  How will I make the physical changes to my routine.  I believe when God prompts me, it is obviously a spiritual prompting, right?  Also, I believe that Gods promptings are for spiritual purposes.  So, somehow, I must look at this whole picture with spiritual eyes.  Now that is where I am at.  At this point with this realization I need to spend some time in the Word and in Prayer to be able to use my spiritual eyes.  Another thing I find kind of interesting - I love to brainstorm on paper when I have personal goals...physical goals.  God is giving me a vision of brainstorming with paper in the physical but allowing all the ideas that pour out be only those I receive in the spiritual.  Isn't that cool?

Okay - that's all for today!

As always, I welcome and love to get your comments!  If you don't already, please follow this blog!

Have a fantastic week!

Well Hello everyone!

This is just a quicky post.  I have been feeling prompted to step out of my comfort zone a little more with my journey to health.  So, I am starting another blog!  Aren't you so excited?  It is called "Not to be Skinny"  I will be entering my first post this week.  I hope you will follow this new blog and share it with others.

Don't worry I plan to continue to blog here as well.  The two blogs have totally different purposes.  Yet both are to grow me as a child of God, and to encourage others in their walk with God.

See you soon!

The Humiliation Diet - or the Accountability Diet....

I really just want your thoughts and opinions...

Have you heard about the humiliation diet? If I understand it correctly you announce through social media that you are going on a diet.  You post your weight to your chosen social media and then you continue to post your weight as often as you commit to.  By posting it, theoretically, it makes one more likely to stick to the process of losing the weight since it would be super HUMILIATING to fail.

What do you think of this idea? Is it something you would be willing to try?

Here are some of my thoughts...

I do not like that it is called the Humiliation Diet. It has such a negative vibe. I thought I might like the Accountability Diet better.  But I really just don't like the word "Diet" at all. "Lifestyle" I love - because if we want to make this weight loss and health permanent we have to choose a new Lifestyle.  Humiliation Lifestyle is still really not a phrase I would like to associate myself or my lifestyle with.  Accountability Lifestyle is a little better.

Beyond that - NO, I will not be posting my weight to face book.  Yes, that would be humiliating and I think self defeating.  However, I have thought about doing a separate blog about my journey to health.  Since I love to write and I believe writing really helps us to grow as individuals, it's an idea I am really considering. I need some extra motivation to move this journey in the right direction quite a bit faster than what I am going! I would post pics that would currently be very embarrassing to me....I do not like my size at all.  But by posting them, it would be a motivation to me...I think.  New recipes with pics and nutritional information, maybe my food log, anything that has to do with this journey! Additionally, what if my story would help someone else?  I do best when I feel I am helping some body else on their journey....regardless of what the journey is. I have even kicked around titles, "In Search of Onederland", "Losing What should Never be Gained", "Losing to Gain"...

I believe God created us to be healthy, completely!  If He is for us, who can be against us! I have only come across one fitness blogger that is heavy on the spiritual side of the battle.  Her story is not about weight loss, it is about overcoming anorexia and bulimia to be fit and healthy.  Even though I can't relate to those two illnesses at all, I love her posts and am encouraged by them.

So, tell me what you think! I can't wait to hear!

Lots of love,

D. J.
