Hello!
The PRAY, PRAISE, TRUST realization is really growing my faith and opening my eyes. I have started to do the "one thing" I have been prompted to do, I have not done it perfectly, but I see things getting into line as a result of the efforts that I am putting out. I have also set aside my pride and I have asked for help in the way of asking for others to pray. I have experienced changes that simply can't be explained in any other way - other than, prayers are going up and God is answering. Just getting a glimpse of what a little obedience put into motion helps me to be motivated to stay the course! I encourage you today - if you know you are doing what you are suppose to be doing, just keep at it, PRAISE and TRUST, keep your eyes, heart and mind open to all that God is doing around you. I can assure you, you will see things in motion for your benefit!
Lots of Love,
D. J.
God has a calling on everyone's life and this is just me, doing all that God has called me to do. I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, student, small business owner and employee. My call is to be the best in each of these areas, according to His definition of best. I am not perfect, I have not arrived, and I won't ever reach either until I get to Heaven!

Pray. Praise. Trust.
Life gets overwhelming. No doubt about it. I don't think anyone is immune to it either. It also happens repeatedly. So, what do we do about it? I don't think it can be avoided. Well, if it can be avoided, I haven't grown to that part of my faith walk yet. So, again, what do we do about it?
Recently I have felt very overwhelmed with all aspects of life. God's been pulling on my heart to make some significant changes. As I type this, I realize how perfect His timing really is. Literally a couple of months ago is when this prompting started. I didn't have a clear vision of exactly what I was suppose to do and quite frankly I wasn't sure if I was understanding Him correctly. So, I did nothing but wait for a clearer vision. I guess I thought about it, but I applied no changes, and initiated no action. The feeling of being overwhelmed grew to the point of tears! Finally I started praying and pleading for God to give me a clearer vision, clearer instructions. Seriously, I did not pray about this prompting at first - which is what I should have done. I should have immediately began to PRAY. (I know, "DUH", right?) So I prayed and cried for a couple of days. Then I had to fight some anger...Why wasn't God answering me? Somehow reason and faith kicked in...in the midst of the unknown in addition to praying you must PRAISE God! He is in control, He has plans to prosper you and protect you! His timing is perfect (in spite of us). So PRAISE Him! Now, while praying and praising Him TRUST Him - the answers are coming! TRUST in our FATHER! He really never lets us down! We are on the right track now ~ the track of faith!
Answers and clarification are coming and I am taking the first steps even though I don't see the whole picture yet of what God is moving me to do. So, I must do what I know to do!
Hope you are doing GREAT!

Resistance
Resistance...Or is it confusion. Just typing that makes me think about this even more.
I am still in a place of knowing that I need to make several life changes. I still can't see the how...I just know I am being prompted by the Lord to make changes. I am so frustrated. I don't even know where to begin and I can't see with my minds eye how I can bring to pass what I feel I am suppose to. As I have been thinking about it this morning I thought perhaps I am being resistant to change...which made me wonder if I were confused...that upsets me because it's possible and confusion is not from God...now I feel a bit like a failure. If I pop back to resistance, well that's the same as rebellion in this case - which is sin.
Today I am just going to pray that God show me 1 clear simple step forward that I can do today. I will do it, breaking the resistance and rebellion and clearing the confusion. I will take that same step tomorrow and ask for another step to do as well. Progress towards God's prompting.
Tell me what you think by commenting! I also love words of encouragement (scripture Word that is).
Thank you for reading!

Working out the Spiritual in the Physical
Hello blogging buddies,
Today ~ just a topic I am dancing with right now. I have mentioned that God is prompting me to make some (a lot) of changes in my routine of life. It's quite overwhelming to be honest. I just can't see how in the world I can make all of these changes and basically live life, day to day, this new way. I have been wrestling with this for a long time.
Last night I had a light bulb moment. I am trying to figure this out in the physical. I am strictly looking at the changes with my physical eyes and considering my physical abilities. How will I make the physical changes to my routine. I believe when God prompts me, it is obviously a spiritual prompting, right? Also, I believe that Gods promptings are for spiritual purposes. So, somehow, I must look at this whole picture with spiritual eyes. Now that is where I am at. At this point with this realization I need to spend some time in the Word and in Prayer to be able to use my spiritual eyes. Another thing I find kind of interesting - I love to brainstorm on paper when I have personal goals...physical goals. God is giving me a vision of brainstorming with paper in the physical but allowing all the ideas that pour out be only those I receive in the spiritual. Isn't that cool?
Okay - that's all for today!
As always, I welcome and love to get your comments! If you don't already, please follow this blog!
Have a fantastic week!

Well Hello everyone!
This is just a quicky post. I have been feeling prompted to step out of my comfort zone a little more with my journey to health. So, I am starting another blog! Aren't you so excited? It is called "Not to be Skinny" I will be entering my first post this week. I hope you will follow this new blog and share it with others.
Don't worry I plan to continue to blog here as well. The two blogs have totally different purposes. Yet both are to grow me as a child of God, and to encourage others in their walk with God.
See you soon!

The Humiliation Diet - or the Accountability Diet....
I really just want your thoughts and opinions...
Have you heard about the humiliation diet? If I understand it correctly you announce through social media that you are going on a diet. You post your weight to your chosen social media and then you continue to post your weight as often as you commit to. By posting it, theoretically, it makes one more likely to stick to the process of losing the weight since it would be super HUMILIATING to fail.
What do you think of this idea? Is it something you would be willing to try?
Here are some of my thoughts...
I do not like that it is called the Humiliation Diet. It has such a negative vibe. I thought I might like the Accountability Diet better. But I really just don't like the word "Diet" at all. "Lifestyle" I love - because if we want to make this weight loss and health permanent we have to choose a new Lifestyle. Humiliation Lifestyle is still really not a phrase I would like to associate myself or my lifestyle with. Accountability Lifestyle is a little better.
Beyond that - NO, I will not be posting my weight to face book. Yes, that would be humiliating and I think self defeating. However, I have thought about doing a separate blog about my journey to health. Since I love to write and I believe writing really helps us to grow as individuals, it's an idea I am really considering. I need some extra motivation to move this journey in the right direction quite a bit faster than what I am going! I would post pics that would currently be very embarrassing to me....I do not like my size at all. But by posting them, it would be a motivation to me...I think. New recipes with pics and nutritional information, maybe my food log, anything that has to do with this journey! Additionally, what if my story would help someone else? I do best when I feel I am helping some body else on their journey....regardless of what the journey is. I have even kicked around titles, "In Search of Onederland", "Losing What should Never be Gained", "Losing to Gain"...
I believe God created us to be healthy, completely! If He is for us, who can be against us! I have only come across one fitness blogger that is heavy on the spiritual side of the battle. Her story is not about weight loss, it is about overcoming anorexia and bulimia to be fit and healthy. Even though I can't relate to those two illnesses at all, I love her posts and am encouraged by them.
So, tell me what you think! I can't wait to hear!
Lots of love,
D. J.

DIN DIN Club - DO IT NOW
A long time ago I worked with a woman who encouraged me to be part of the DIN DIN club - the Do It Now club. I appreciated her enthusiasm and believed she had grasped how to be part of the DIN DIN Club - but I struggled as I considered becoming a member. I wanted to be a member but just could not figure it out. Today, I am still not a member, but I am finally getting there.
So, this is my attempt to encourage you to begin your membership to the DIN DIN club. In life we tend to put things off until circumstances are better...
When the girls get a little bit older....
When work settles down....
When the girls are out of school....
When I lose weight....
When the house is cleaner....
When we have more money....
When life settles down....
News Flash - there are always going to be circumstances! Once the girls are a little bit older, there will be a new circumstance, once work settles down something else will pop up. ALWAYS! I am speaking from experience.
My girls got older, they were 12 and 16....then we had Brandy
Work settled down....life is still busy
Two girls are out of school and into college...now I have college things to attend and the oldest girl gave me a grandson...
When I lose weight...well that continues to be an issue, I could have done a lot of things at my current weight..
When the house is cleaner....clean only last about 8 seconds at my house - really?? Invite and have fun! If your guest is judging your house they don't need to be there.
When we have more money - two things here...figure it out, maybe a less expensive option and the other option - begin to SAVE or you will never get there.
When life settles down - not going to happen! Today I have my folks that I am blessed with helping with, I have a grandson, I have a college freshman daughter and a soon to be 6 year old daughter....Life is not going to settle down. Praise God though, I am blessed, I am blessed, I am blessed.
So whatever you have been putting off, figure out how to make it happen. Otherwise it will never happen or when you are finally ready you will have put so many things off there simply will not be enough time left in your lifetime to complete all of them!
Lots of love!
D. J.
